Handwoven cloth is not too fragile to wear or use. Remember that every handwoven item has been washed as part of the finishing process at least once!
If I have marked your item as “delicate” then these instructions are for you.
Delicate cloth includes loosely woven or lacy cloth, finely woven cloth or anything containing Superwash wool.
If you are not sure if the wool is Superwash, use these instructions instead!

Washing
Delicate items can be washed in the machine if you use a delicate or wool wash cycle. Items containing silk are hand wash only.
Use a wash bag to avoid pulled threads or distortion of the weave. Keep separate from other colours to avoid dye bleeding.
Use a detergent suitable for delicates / wool.
Wash in cold water (less than 40 ℃).
Use a low spin to avoid wrinkling.
If you choose to hand wash, don’t wring out the cloth. Use the machine to spin out the water, or just let it drip on the line.
Drying and Pressing
Do not tumble dry delicate items.
To avoid discolouration dry your items out of direct sunlight.
To avoid distortion, dry the items flat or draped over long supports, if possible.
Cloth containing silk should be pressed on a cool iron setting.
Otherwise use a warm iron (or “wool”) setting to press, if needed.
Avoid
Don’t bleach or dry clean.
Don’t use fabric softeners because they cause build up of product in your cloth.
